| The
need for a highly interactive office space combined with a
tight budget drove the remodel of these architectural
offices.
Pierce replaced system-furniture cubicles with fixed spaces
divided only by sanded plexi-glass "clouds". Desktops were
crafted from recycled solid-wood doors, covered in linoleum
and trimmed with apple-ply wood. Existing oak flat files were
hidden by pony walls and much needed lay-out space was gained
by covering those areas with counters.
The
addition of two more conference areas for informal employee
team meetings was added as well as a more centrally accessible
printing/faxing area.
A custom designed desk, curved textured wall, and bold, flowing
carpet design helped define the reception area. Pierce designed
an organically shaped bookcase, which helped to complete the
transition from the public space to the work space beyond.
Bold colors were used to add to the vibrancy and underscore
the creative business of the client.
